The future of self-sufficient electricity generation
Near the High Coast (Höga kusten) and the Ångermanälv river valley you’ll find Solberg Inn on a farm in Undrom. The farmhouse dates from the 1800’s and has been carefully renovated.
Solberg Inn is a bed and breakfast, which also provides conference facilities. The owners, Tomas and Ingrid Eklund, have installed solar cells and a solar collector, as well as a mini wind turbine, to be able to generate their own electricity and heating. Tomas also runs the company Solar Energy in Undrom (Solenergi i Undrom) which sells complete solar module packages made in Sweden. He frequently gives presentations on solar energy too. Did you know that the energy that flows towards the earth for the duration of half an hour, when converted into electricity, could supply the earth’s population with electricity for a whole year? Would you like to find out more about how to generate your own electricity? Or maybe about bees and beekeeping? You can learn about these and much more when you visit the farm in Undrom.
